Making a difference in Richmond has never been easier—especially if you have a motorcycle taking up space in your garage. Whether it’s a trusty cruiser that’s seen better days or a sleek sport bike that’s been gathering dust, RevUp Richmond is here to make the donation process seamless and rewarding. We’re committed to supporting our community, and your motorcycle donation can help fund local initiatives that matter.
Richmond is brimming with motorcycle enthusiasts who love to hit the scenic routes, from the trails near the James River to the winding roads of the surrounding countryside. But we understand that life changes—sometimes it means letting go of that ride you once loved. With our easy donation process, you can turn that bike into cash for local charities that support your neighbors in need.

Condition & logistics
Running vs. Not Running
We accept motorcycles in any condition—whether they roar to life or lay dormant in your garage. Even if your bike is in pieces, it can still be a valuable contribution to our cause.
Title Issues
When donating, make sure the title is signed over to us with the odometer reading noted. If you have a lost title, don't worry; we can guide you through the necessary steps to resolve that issue.
Storage and Pickup Logistics
If your motorcycle needs a new home, we’ll handle the logistics. We’ll arrange for pickup at a time that works best for you, whether you’re in the city or nearby suburbs like Chesterfield or Henrico.
Title transfer & paperwork
In Virginia, transferring a motorcycle title is straightforward. You’ll need to complete the Title Transfer section on the back of the title, ensuring it’s signed with the current odometer reading. No notarization is required for the transfer itself, but if you have any special circumstances, we can provide assistance. Don’t forget to return your license plates to the DMV within 30 days of the transfer to avoid penalties.
Tax deduction for this donation
Your motorcycle donation can offer significant tax deductions, typically ranging from $500 to the fair market value based on the selling price. After your donation, you’ll receive a Form 1098-C to document your contribution, which simplifies your tax filing process and helps you maximize your deductions.
Local context — Richmond
Motorcycle donations in Richmond often stem from various life changes. Many residents find themselves downsizing after a divorce, relocating for work, or simply trading in their ride for a different lifestyle. The vibrant local motorcycle culture adds to this dynamic, as many riders enjoy cruising along the Boulevard or stopping by the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts for an artful pit stop. Our donors appreciate the chance to give back to the community while clearing out a bit of clutter from their lives.
