How we started
RevUp Richmond began with a simple yet powerful insight: many of our neighbors were eligible for essential benefits but remained unenrolled. Local community leaders in Richmond, noticing the struggles in neighborhoods like Jackson Ward and Highland Park, came together to devise a solution. They realized that vehicle donation could be a sustainable funding model that not only supported their mission but also directly impacted the lives of individuals and families in need.
With a shared vision, they established RevUp Richmond, a local initiative dedicated to connecting residents with vital programs such as SNAP, Virginia Medicaid, and TANF. Community members began donating their vehicles, each contribution transforming into resources that would help families navigate the complexities of accessing available benefits.
